Deborah is President of Deborah Gerstler Spanierman & Associates, Inc., formerly DGS Fine Art Consultants, Inc., a full-service private appraisal and art advisory company. She provides boutique services to private collectors, museums, and corporations for buying, selling, donating, and protecting their assets through qualified, USPAP-compliant appraisals.Deborah is Certified in American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture including such areas as the Hudson River School, American Impressionists and the early American Modernists, and is accredited in Postwar, Contemporary, and Emerging Art and Fine Art Prints. Appraisals are prepared for insurance, damage and loss, financial planning, estate planning, estate tax, non-cash charitable donation, equitable distribution, and collateral loans. Deborah also provides litigation support.With nearly 40 years in the art business, Deborah has a wealth of experience that is invaluable to those who need appraisal services. She spent considerable time with Sotheby’s in the department of American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, and then 10 years at Spanierman Gallery, LLC, New York, focusing on sales and acquisitions of art among private collectors, corporations, and museums, as well as curating important exhibitions for the gallery and traveling venues. She founded DGS Fine Art Consultants, now Deborah Gerstler Spanierman & Associates, Inc., in 2007.
