I am a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America and the co-chair of the AAA's National Conference Committee, as well as a member of the executive committee of the Association’s board of directors. I am also the chair of the vetting committee for postwar and contemporary art for the Winter Show, a prestigious art fair held in New York every January.I bring over 20 years’ experience as a dealer to my appraisal practice, having worked for several prominent New York gallerists in addition to starting one of the first galleries in Chelsea in 1998. This extensive exposure to the marketplace and my professional network enables me to appraise works accurately by a wide range of artists from emerging to blue-chip for many uses. My clientele includes a private equity group who make loans using art as collateral, collectors with significant holdings of contemporary masters, and individuals donating important works to museums, as well as estates of artists without extensive sales records and collectors insuring work by younger artists. While I recognize that the essence of my work is to present a credible opinion of monetary value, my wide-ranging research covers the many reasons an artwork is desirable, and my reports strive to convey the beauty and intelligence behind the objects appraised.
