Gallery – Alberto Di Castro Gallery Four Generations of History The Gallery Established in Rome in 1878 , Antichità Alberto Di Castro is an Italian gallery exhibiting pre-20th century art: from micromosaics, sculptures and jewels, to drawings and paintings. Alberto Di Castro, representing the gallery’s fourth generation , has merged a personal passion and a rigorous art historical approach, re-discovering and publishing carefully selected artworks. The historic gallery , designed by architect Clemente Busiri Vici , is located in the heart of the Eternal City, Rome’s Piazza Di Spagna, 5 . When entering the space, visitors are welcomed in a room where artworks hang or stand in front of the original mid–18th century boiserie. Passed a small arch, a long corridor decorated with micromosaics, paintings, marble columns, paintings on stone, books and jewels lead the visitor to the grand salone where more artworks are displayed in an unexpected space. Works from the gallery have entered leading collections , including Galleria Borghese, Pinacoteca di Brera, Musée du Louvre, The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Rijksmuseum , among others. Gallery Director Alberto Di Castro Alberto Di Castro graduated in Art History cum laude , publishing his thesis Marmorari e Argentieri a Roma e nel Lazio tra Cinquecento e Seicento , funded by La Sapienza Università Di Roma.…
