Baró Galeria Baró Galeria is a contemporary art gallery founded by Maria Baró in São Paulo in 1999. From the beginning, the gallery positioned itself as a space for experimentation and critical dialogue, rooted in international collaboration and institutional partnerships. Representing artists of multiple generations and geographies, Baró promotes both established and emerging voices. Its curatorial vision aims to connect the Global South with the broader contemporary art landscape, fostering cross-cultural exchange through a dynamic and forward-looking program. Over the years, the gallery broadened its international scope, introducing works by artists such as Wilfredo Prieto, Song Dong, Christian Boltanski, Tatiana Trouvé, Roman Signer and Dennis Oppenheim. These collaborations marked a decisive expansion of the gallery’s vision, aligning it with a global discourse while maintaining strong ties to the Latin American context. In parallel, Baró built long-standing relationships with institutions and collectors, reinforcing its role in the production and dissemination of contemporary art. The gallery now represents 30 artists from over 17 nationalities, continuing to explore diverse practices that reflect the complexity of the present. In 2021, Baró opened two new spaces in Mallorca, housed in a 17th-century building in Palma’s historic center.…
