About Us — Kingston Gallery 0 About Kingston Gallery is an artist-run, cooperative gallery founded in 1982. Kingston Gallery takes its name from the original location on Kingston Street near Boston's Chinatown. In the mid-90s, Kingston Gallery was one of the first to relocate to Thayer Street, anchoring what has since developed into the vibrant SoWa arts district of Boston's historic South End. Kingston Gallery is run by dues-paying. Exhibiting artist members showcase a diverse array of contemporary art in a mutually supportive environment that encourages experimentation and growth. One hundred percent of the income from artwork sales benefits Kingston Gallery artists. Kingston Gallery exhibitions receive numerous visitors and attention in both print and online publications including Art in America, Art New England, Artscope, and The Boston Globe . The Space Kingston Gallery is divided front to back into the Main Gallery, the Center Gallery, and the Project Space. Occasionally, guest artists exhibit work in the Center Gallery to coincide with exhibitions in the Main Gallery. The Project Space fosters experimentation and exploration of new work by gallery members. The intimacy of the space allows our artists to show a contained amount of work while pursuing and investigating new directions and installation possibilities.
