Knust Kunz Gallery Editions was founded in 1982 under the name Galerie Sabine Knust. Continuous collaborations with artists like Georg Baselitz, Per Kirkeby, A.R. Penck, Markus Lüpertz, Jörg Immendorff, and Imi Knoebel formed an ongoing presentation of their print and graphic œuvre for over 30 years. In 1998 Matthias Kunz joined as partner. Over its more than 40 years history the gallery expanded the program gradually, representing international artists of different generations and media today. Additionally to the main space near Odeonsplatz, KNUSTxKUNZ+ was opened in Munich's Museum's quarter in 2010, opposite the Brandhorst Museum. Dedicated to up-and-coming artists but also holding space for new edition projects and publications this second venue broadens the possibilities of presentation and interaction. In July 2021 Knust Kunz temporarily expanded to Belgium, with a third exhibition space in Knokke-Heist (thru July 2023). Working on an international level Knust Kunz Gallery Editions takes part in some of the most prestigious art fairs like Art Basel, Frieze London, Art Cologne, the Fine Art Print Fair in New York, and ARCO Madrid.
