Large Glass is a commercial art gallery that was created in London in 2011. It takes its name from the celebrated work by Marcel Duchamp, and — like his practice — the art exhibited can be at once conceptual, material and playful. The gallery is based near Kings Cross, on the edge of Central London, and since its inception it has been gathering an audience for its international, original and inquisitive programme. Large Glass stages an average of five exhibitions a year, featuring a variety of media albeit with some particular specialisms, including photography. The programme includes solo shows, with gallery artists, as well as distinctive group projects. The latter exhibitions can contain both art and non-art objects, historic as well as contemporary, by known and unknown makers — but all of them circling around a central idea. In addition, all of the exhibitions are accompanied by talks, readings and other events that, like the objects on show, look outwards to the larger and overlapping cultures within which art is made. Large Glass participates in fairs including Paris Photo, Photo London and The Photography Show (by AIPAD). The gallery is a member of The Society of London Art Dealers (SLAD) and The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD). Opening Hours 11.00am–6.00pm Wednesday to Saturday (during exhibitions) and by appointment. Note: Easter closure from 3–7 April.…
