Langkawi becomes an open canvas for contemporary art

Langkawi, Malaysia, is hosting the 29th Bakat Muda Sezaman (BMS29) showcase, transforming the island into an open-air gallery through July 26, 2026. Contemporary artworks and performances are installed in unexpected public locations such as padi fields, jetties, beaches, the Kuah public market, and Dataran Lang, featuring installations, digital art, and interactive works by emerging artists. The National Art Gallery director-general Amerrudin Ahmad stated the initiative aims to bring contemporary art closer to the public by moving beyond conventional gallery spaces.

The twelfth edition of "Buongiorno Ceramica!" will take place on May 23-24, 2026, transforming historic centers, museums, and workshops across Italy into open-air laboratories. The event spans from Piedmont to Sicily, featuring exhibitions, installations, guided tours, performances, tastings, and gastronomic events. Highlights include the Ceramiche Sonore competition in Castellamonte, the Museo della Ceramica's tribute to Marco Levi in Mondovì, and open studios in Montelupo Fiorentino, with participation from 60 cities organized by the Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica.

The seventh edition of "Una Boccata d'Arte," an initiative by Fondazione Elpis, will bring contemporary art to 20 remote villages across all 20 Italian regions. Coral Springs museum to honor Clyde Butcher, America at 250 before its relocation

The Coral Springs Museum of Art will present a double-feature exhibition from June 5 to August 1, 2025, as its final show before relocating to the Cornerstone complex in downtown Coral Springs. The exhibition includes "Clyde Butcher: Lifeworks in Photography," featuring 45 large-format prints of Everglades and global landscapes by the renowned photographer, and "Across this Land: America at 250," a multimedia contemporary collection exploring landscapes, waterways, and urban environments in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday. The museum will also host a lecture and book signing with Clyde Butcher on June 13.
