Missoula Art Museum opens new exhibit with acclaimed artist

The Missoula Art Museum has opened a new exhibition featuring acclaimed artist Sara Siestreem. Her latest body of work includes large, multi-panel paintings, basket weaving, ceramics, and sculpture, all unified by geometric designs inspired by traditional weaving patterns. A reception was held on opening night, with a second artist talk scheduled for Saturday morning.

“Huang, Jackson, & Terry,” May 8 through June 19

A trio of Midwest photographers—Qingjun Huang, Natalie Jackson, and Matthew Terry—will showcase their latest works at the Quad City Arts Center in Rock Island, Illinois, from May 8 through June 19. The exhibition, titled "Huang, Jackson, & Terry," features Huang, a Peoria-based freelancer born in China with international exhibition credits including Christie’s London and the Benaki Museum; Jackson, a portrait and fine arts photographer from Peoria who serves on the board of the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria; and Terry, a Davenport-based contemporary photographer and Academy of Art University graduate whose work has been shown in galleries across the U.S. and Europe.

Eiteljorg Museum showcases Latin American printmakers’ artistic traditions

The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis will open a new exhibition, “Consejo Grafico Nacional: Latino Printmakers in the United States,” on May 30. The show features two printmaking portfolios created by Latin American artists from Chicago, California, New York, Texas, and Puerto Rico: “La Huella Magistral,” which pays homage to master printmakers, and “Los Americanos: Same Equals Different,” which explores cultural exchanges across the U.S.-Mexico border. The opening includes a free tour led by Sandra Fernandez, director of the Consejo Grafico Nacional, and a printmaking demonstration by artist Andy Arana Gomez.
