‘These are artifacts from history’: exhibition celebrates objects of sporting victory

A new exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, titled "For the Win," showcases championship rings, trophies, medals, and jewelry spanning nearly 150 years of US sports history. Highlights include Jesse Owens's 1936 Olympic gold medal, Breanna Stewart's 2024 WNBA championship ring, the 1877 NYPD Medal of Valor, and items from Kevin Durant and the Seattle Seahawks. The Musée d'art et d'archéologie in Valence, France, is presenting an exhibition titled "Hubert Robert & Fragonard. Le sentiment de la nature" from March 7 to June 21, 2026. The show traces the artistic friendship between Hubert Robert and Jean-Honoré Fragonard, who met as young French artists sketching in the ruins of Rome under the guidance of Charles-Joseph Natoire. It features works from the museum's renowned collection of sanguine drawings, notably those from the foundational bequest of Julien Victor Veyrenc (1835-1836), and includes new attributions proposed by curator Sarah Catala, a graduate conservator from the Institut National du Patrimoine.

Morris Museum’s Common Ground: NJ Artists Think Monumental, an Ex

The Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey, presents "Common Ground: NJ Artists Think Monumental," the 42nd New Jersey Arts Annual. For the first time in the series' history, the exhibition moves outdoors, activating the museum's 8-acre campus with large-scale sculptures. Nine artists were selected from 530 submissions by a jury led by Johannah Hutchinson, Executive Director of the International Sculpture Center. The exhibition runs from May 28 to August 23, 2026, and includes works by Clifford Blanchard, Sunil Garg, Wendy Gordon, Robert Koch, Robert Lobe, Judith Peck, Jill Scipione, Lee Tal, and Josh Urso.
