New Orleans Takes the Stage at the 2026 Venice Biennale

New Orleans artists Dawn DeDeaux and Demond Melancon have been selected to participate in the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026. Curated by Koyo Kouoh under the title "In Minor Keys," the exhibition marks a historic moment as two artists from the city receive simultaneous invitations to the prestigious international forum. DeDeaux, a veteran multimedia artist known for her "MotherShip Series" and environmental themes, will bring her focus on post-anthropocene landscapes to the global stage.

Experience the wonders of Pippin Frisbie-Calder’s art inspired by LSU Vet Med residency

Pippin Frisbie-Calder, LSU School of Veterinary Medicine's 2025 artist-in-residence, will present a public exhibition and talk on November 10, 2025, at the LSU Vet Med Library. During her August residency, she engaged with clinicians, researchers, and the hospital environment to create original artworks inspired by veterinary science, using printmaking, woodcutting, and large-scale installations that explore climate change, species extinction, and environmental stewardship.

Emma Donnersberg to open Paris gallery

Interior designer Emma Donnersberg will open her first Paris gallery on 20 October 2025 in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The inaugural exhibition will feature paintings by Mexican artist Ileana García Magoda alongside new furniture pieces by Donnersberg, including the Marigold sofa and chairs from her Cloud and Rainbow collections. Donnersberg, who studied at Tulane University and Parsons School of Design, began her career at Christie’s in New York and Paris before founding E. Donnersberg Interiors in Manhattan in 2008.
