The 42nd edition of Art Brussels has scaled down to 138 exhibitors from 165 in 2025, responding to a sluggish contemporary art market and economic uncertainty. The fair introduces a new section called 'Horizonte,' curated by Devrim Bayar of Kanal Centre Pompidou, featuring six large-scale installations including Pao Hui Kao's delicate paper-and-lacquer refuge and Oswald Oberhuber's €380,000 panoramic painting 'Paradiesgarten.' Galleries are now consolidated into one hall, with fewer blue-chip participants but a continued focus on living artists (95% of the 500 shown). Notable presentations include Xavier Hufkens' solo show of Cassi Namoda, Krinziger's works by Marina Abramović and Monica Bonvicini, and Richard Saltoun's historical mix of Fernand Khnopff, Everlyn Nicodemus, and Suzanne Van Damme.

The New York Academy of Art held its 26th annual "Take Home a Nude" benefit auction at Sotheby's Upper East Side headquarters, honoring artist John Alexander. The event featured 112 artists, including Ryan McGinness, Natalie Frank, Christo, Eric Fischl, and Kiki Smith, who each donated unique drawings made from the same nude models during Will Cotton's annual Drawing Party. The party, hosted at Cotton's studio, brought together New York artists to sketch live models, with this year's theme featuring the sons and daughters of art-world figures like Glenn O'Brien, Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, Anne Pasternak, and Barbara Gladstone posing alongside the nudes.

Untitled Art, a well-known Miami art fair, is expanding to Houston with its inaugural edition taking place September 19–21 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The fair will feature over 80 national and international exhibitors, including a Nest section for emerging galleries, and will launch the CAMH Commission Prize in collaboration with the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, resulting in a major new commission for the 2026 edition. The Municipal Arts Society of New York (MASNYC) held its 2025 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Medal dinner on October 6, honoring architects Elizabeth Diller and Annabelle Selldorf. The event took place at the Pool and Grill in the Seagram Building, a landmarked space that both architects have worked on—Diller's firm DS+R transformed the basement Brasserie, and Selldorf renovated the Four Seasons Restaurant.
