French artist JR is transforming the Pont-Neuf in Paris into a giant inflatable cave structure, titled "La Caverne du Pont-Neuf," set to debut on May 23, 2026. The project, conceived with producer Vladimir Yavachev, pays homage to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's 1985 wrapped Pont-Neuf, using inflatable techniques inspired by Christo's unrealized designs. JR's team built a prototype in a hangar at Orly, and the work involves complex permissions from the French president, the Paris mayor, and local authorities.

Giant inflatable artworks have taken over The Hague

A monthlong open-air exhibition called BlowUp Jubilee has taken over The Hague, featuring 24 giant inflatable artworks installed in parks, on buildings, and even in a train station. Highlights include a 7-meter-tall stew pot floating in front of the Mauritshuis museum, home to "Girl with a Pearl Earring," and works by artists such as Eugenie Boon, who created a piece inspired by Curaçaoan culture, and British artist Steve Messam, whose red spiked sculpture Crested sits atop a parking garage entrance. The exhibition is curated by Mary Hessing and runs until June 21.

Float Into The World Of The Balloon Museum Pop-Up In SG, Its First Time In Asia

The Balloon Museum's traveling exhibition 'Pop Air – Art is Inflatable' has opened at Marina Bay Sands Expo Hall F in Singapore, marking its first-ever show in Asia. The exhibition features 17 inflatable artworks by international contemporary artists, including pieces like 'Aria', 'Spiritus Sonata' by ENESS, 'Soft Hurricane' by Quiet Ensemble, 'Cloud Swing' by Lindsay Glatz & Curious Form, and 'Hypercosmo' by Hyperstudio. The museum, which debuted in Rome in 2021, has previously toured Berlin, Paris, London, and New York, and will remain in Singapore until August 31, 2025.

Artfully Aired: Balloon Art Exhibition Opens in Dallas in November

The Balloon Museum, founded in Rome in 2021, will open its exhibition "Let's Fly—Art Has No Limits" at Dallas' South Side Studios on November 22, running through April 26. The multisensory show spans over 65,000 square feet and features large-scale inflatable and air-based installations by 18 international artists, including Sasha Frolova, Lucas Zanotto, Camilla Falsini, and Ouchhh. Created by Italy-based Lux Entertainment, the exhibition explores themes of flight, freedom, and lightness through works like Michael Shaw's 44-meter "Lava Lamp" and Christopher Schardt's 26-foot butterfly sculpture with 39,000 LEDs.
