Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will host the U.S. debut of "Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen" from May 20 to September 13, 2026. The exhibition features over 95 works by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti, and other postwar European avant-garde artists, drawn from the collection assembled by famed gallerist and collector Heinz Berggruen. It explores Berggruen's relationships with artists and his Paris gallery, Berggruen & Cie, and includes thematic galleries on still life, portraits, and the human figure, as well as a dedicated space on Berggruen's life story.

Texas Vignette announces call for women artists to join 2026 Vignette Art Fair Sept. 30-Oct. 3 at On The Levee

Texas Vignette has announced an open call for Texas women artists to participate in the eighth annual Vignette Art Fair, scheduled for September 30 to October 3, 2026, at On The Levee in the Dallas Design District. Alison de Lima Greene, the Isabel Brown Wilson Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, will curate the juried exhibition. Submissions open May 26 through June 26, with a $36 fee, and selected artists will be notified by August 17. The fair is free to the public on October 2-3, with ticketed preview events including a Patron Welcome Dinner and a Preview Benefit.

‘Picasso-Klee-Matisse’ exhibit brings modernist masterpieces to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) is hosting "Picasso-Klee-Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen" from May 20 to September 13, 2026. The exhibition features dozens of works by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, and Henri Matisse from the private collection of dealer and collector Heinz Berggruen, on loan from the Museum Berggruen – Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The show is organized thematically—portraits, landscapes, still life, and the human figure—and includes paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures, and archival materials, alongside pieces from MFAH's own collection. It has already attracted over 1 million visitors on its international tour.
