Fulton County's Department of Arts & Culture has launched a multi-week international exhibition titled “Threads of Heritage: A Cultural Confluence Connecting Africa to Atlanta” at the Peachtree Gallery, running through the end of June. The exhibition features 14 Nigerian artists and is delivered in partnership with the Nike Art & Culture Foundation of Nigeria, Nike Art USA, and UniSpectrum Inc. Led by acclaimed artist Chief Dr Nike Monica Okundaye, the program includes masterclasses, public panels, community workshops, and live demonstrations on traditional Adire textiles, with US-based textile artist Shayee Awoyomi co-leading workshops and Nigerian painter Adeleke Akeem directing narrative painting masterclasses.
WaterFire Arts Center in Rhode Island has announced its summer and fall 2025 exhibition lineup, featuring five shows from June through November. Highlights include Kate Blacklock's solo exhibition "Inside Out" (June 5–July 6), which explores memory and identity through large-scale narrative paintings; "Growing the Networks" (July 10–August 31), a group show building on the 2024 NetWorks Rhode Island and Chazan Collection; "Family Business" (September 11–October 19), an immersive installation by the WaterFire Accelerate 2024–2025 cohort of six emerging artists; and "Nothing Follows its Spontaneous Course" (October 23–November 9). The season also includes the BuyArt holiday sale, reinforcing WaterFire's role as a hub for local creativity.
The Western Carolina University (WCU) Fine Art Museum is presenting the 2025 MFA Thesis Exhibition, running from April 8 through May 2, 2025. The show features work by four graduating Master of Fine Art students from WCU’s School of Art and Design: Daniel Simone, Yuwen Renjie, Jeannie Regan, and Joey Martin. Their works span alternative printmaking, social practice, material experimentation, and narrative painting, addressing themes of identity, cross-cultural experience, community engagement, and environmental challenges.
Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville is hosting "Anticipation," a joint exhibition featuring the narrative paintings of Laura Rutherford Renner and Alla Podolsky. Running from April 9 through May 3, the show highlights Renner’s use of bold color and shadow to capture snapshots of contemporary life alongside Podolsky’s emotionally charged works that draw on her Ukrainian heritage and personal memories.
