‘Common ground for me is everywhere I step’: Mohammad Omer Khalil on his five-institution show

Mohammad Omer Khalil, a 90-year-old Sudanese artist and master printmaker, is the subject of a five-institution exhibition titled "Common Ground" spanning New York, Philadelphia, and Michigan. The show brings together six decades of his prints and paintings, along with ephemera from his travels, oral histories, and cultural influences. Khalil, who has lived in the US since 1967, learned printmaking at the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and has taught at Pratt Institute, the New School, Columbia University, and New York University. He also produces editions with notable artists and has maintained a long connection to the Asilah Cultural Moussem in Morocco.

Gibraltarian artists exhibit in Margate in collaborative exhibition

A collaborative exhibition titled 'Traces of Humanity' has opened in Margate, England, organized by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry for Culture, in partnership with the Lloyds Group of London. The show features works by Gibraltarian artists, members of the Lloyds Art Group, and internationally renowned artists, drawing inspiration from the Gorham’s Cave complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The launch was hosted by the Mayor of Margate, Councillor Katie Pope, and attended by local dignitaries and visiting Gibraltarian artists. Curated by Philippa Beale, the exhibition will travel to the Noho Gallery in London's West End from 20th to 29th May before arriving in Gibraltar in June.

New Exhibition Explores Modern British Printmaking

The University of Liverpool's Victoria Gallery & Museum will present "Making a Mark: Artworks from the Studio Prints Collection" from June 13, 2026 to January 30, 2027. The free exhibition features 45 prints by seven British artists—including Frank Auerbach, Lucian Freud, and Celia Paul—created at Studio Prints, a pioneering printmaking workshop founded by Dorothea Wight in 1968. The works were gifted to the university in 2019 through the Arts Council England Cultural Gifts Scheme and will be displayed for the first time.

Collagraph prints exhibition begins at Kaalnee Art Studio

A ten-day collagraph printmaking exhibition opened on Wednesday at Kaalnee Art Studio in Rayer Bazar, Dhaka. The exhibition features 19 prints by 14 artists, created during a four-day workshop led by UK-based Bangladeshi artist Zaman Md Fakruzzaman and coordinated by Tarek Amin, jointly organized by Kaalnee Art Studio and the East London Academy of Art.
