Southwest Florida's art scene is bustling with 25 visual art exhibitions across more than a dozen art centers in February. The headline event is the 15th Biennial National Art Exhibition at the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, a prestigious juried competition for two-dimensional art. Other notable shows include Art Center Sarasota's centennial-celebrating Annual Juried Members Show, the 'Colors in Motion' exhibition at Venice Art Center, and a dual exhibition featuring artists Susan Fraley and Rosalie Mack.

Great Dunmow artist has painting featured in Harlow Open exhibition

Great Dunmow artist Mandy Whittick is among the selected participants in this year's Harlow Open exhibition at the Gibberd Gallery. Her acrylic painting, "Stocks and Tulips," was chosen from nearly 500 submissions by a panel of prestigious judges, including representatives from the Royal College of Art and the Cambridge School of Art. The annual showcase, organized by the Harlow Art Trust, features 205 works from regional creators and is curated this year by Laura Noble.

Phillips’ Mill’s “96th Juried Art Show” Opens Sept. 20

Phillips’ Mill Community Association will host its 96th Juried Art Show from September 20 to October 26 at the historic grist mill in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The exhibition features a record-breaking 700+ artworks submitted by artists from Bucks County and the River Towns region, with an opening night preview on September 19 for patrons and accepted artists. The event includes 25 awards totaling $14,500, and for the first time, the opening requires tickets. Honored Artist Shawn Campbell and Signature Image artist Jay McPhillips will greet guests, and a jury of art professionals selected the works.

Annual photo show at MacNider Museum showcases local talent

The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum in Mason City, Iowa, has opened its 46th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show in the Center Space Gallery, sponsored by the Safford and Lena Lock Photo Endowment Fund. Sixty-two entries were submitted by residents of Cerro Gordo County and students at North Iowa Area Community College, with 36 photographs by 20 artists selected for exhibition. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on May 7, 2026, with cash prizes including $125 for Best in Show. The exhibition runs through July 11, 2026, and admission is free.

Northland Pioneer College (NPC) celebrated the 40th annual High School Juried Art Show, awarding top honors to three student artists. Katrina Joe, a senior at Ganado High School, won Best of Show in painting for her work "Cupcakes." Ayla Curley, a senior at Winslow High School, took Best of Show in 3D art for "Rat," and Darla Nez, a senior at Chinle High School, won Best of Show in drawing for "Colorful Perspective."
