Annual photo show at MacNider Museum showcases local talent

The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum in Mason City, Iowa, has opened its 46th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show in the Center Space Gallery, sponsored by the Safford and Lena Lock Photo Endowment Fund. Sixty-two entries were submitted by residents of Cerro Gordo County and students at North Iowa Area Community College, with 36 photographs by 20 artists selected for exhibition. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on May 7, 2026, with cash prizes including $125 for Best in Show. The exhibition runs through July 11, 2026, and admission is free.

The Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) 2026 Communication Arts Student Art Exhibition opened May 8 at the Schulman Gallery. The annual show features original artwork by students enrolled in LCCC's Communication Arts Program, spanning a variety of media and creative approaches. ‘It’s Amazing!’: Regional artists shine at Westman Juried Art Show

The 47th Westman Juried Art Show was held at the Killarney United Church CE Center in Manitoba, featuring 120 flat art pieces by non-professional local artists. The event, organized by the Killarney-Turtle Mountain Arts Council (KTMAC) in partnership with the Arts West Council, included juried critiques from Leona Brown and Lucie Lederhendler, who selected 20 pieces for a travelling gallery across 19 communities and 10 pieces to compete in the Northern and Regional Manitoba Art Show in Winnipeg.

West Kootenay Camera Club opening show at Castlegar art gallery

The West Kootenay Camera Club is hosting its 35th Annual Photo Show at the Kootenay Gallery of Art in Castlegar from June 4-13, 2026. The exhibition features judged photo entries across categories such as nature, human interest, places and landscapes, creative, black and white, after dark, and alternate media, with an opening reception on June 4 from 5-7 p.m.

Western’s ‘Student Art Exhibition’ now open to the public

Western’s Student Art Exhibition has opened to the public at the school’s Art Gallery, featuring works in painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media. The exhibition runs until August 28, with a public reception and awards ceremony scheduled for May 14, where community members can meet the student artists and purchase their work.

Indy airport exhibit features artists with disabilities

A new exhibition opened April 10 at the Indianapolis International Airport’s Civic Plaza, featuring 92 works by 90 Hoosier artists with developmental disabilities. The show was organized by the Indianapolis Airport Authority in partnership with the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, Inc. (INARF) and Ability Indiana, with artists from 12 INARF member organizations contributing pieces in a variety of mediums. The airport’s arts and culture program, which rotates permanent and temporary collections, has hosted this annual showcase for several years, with some artists returning each year with new work.

Top student artists in NPC’s 40th annual High School Juried Art Show

Northland Pioneer College (NPC) celebrated the 40th annual High School Juried Art Show, awarding top honors to three student artists. Katrina Joe, a senior at Ganado High School, won Best of Show in painting for her work "Cupcakes." Ayla Curley, a senior at Winslow High School, took Best of Show in 3D art for "Rat," and Darla Nez, a senior at Chinle High School, won Best of Show in drawing for "Colorful Perspective." The exhibition was juried by NPC faculty members Magda Gluszek and Peterson Yazzie, and each winner received an art tuition scholarship to NPC for the 2026-27 academic year.
