Art curator to give free public talk

Greg Bell, an art adviser, artist, and curator who has worked on the Paul Allen art collection and with the Tacoma Art Museum, will give a free public talk at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Port Townsend. He will lead a walk-and-talk through the "Florabundance" exhibit at Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery, which pairs ceramist Ariana Heinzman of Vashon Island and Sarah Helen More of Wenatchee. The exhibit features 10 of Heinzman's colorful flower sculptures and More's personal sketchbooks filled with flowers, collages, and birds. Crickhowell Open Studios returns from 23 to 25 May 2026, inviting visitors to explore 26 venues across Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Hartwick College's Art and Art History Department held its Senior Art Show Reception on May 15 in the Foreman Gallery, showcasing graduating students' work across diverse media. Awards included the Presidential Purchase Prize ($1,000) to Marissa Yanacheak for "Transformation," a plexiglass layered piece; first-place Best in Show ($600) to Kylee Hosmer for "Minoans in the Modern Day," a 3D installation inspired by ancient Minoan civilization; and second-place Best in Show ($400) to Megan Bryla for "Internal Integrity," a ceramic work. Merritt Wins Best Of Show At Spring Juried Art Show

Wesley Dallas Merritt won Best of Show at the Lakeland Art Association's 22nd annual Spring Juried Art Show, held at the Lakeland Art Gallery in Warsaw, Indiana. The show featured 53 works by 19 artists from Fort Wayne, North Manchester, and surrounding counties, including paintings, photographs, metal sculptures, and ceramic works. Collective-The Art Of Craft To Host Open Studio Weekend Information Center In Woodstock

Collective-The Art of Craft in Woodstock, Vermont, will serve as an information hub during the Vermont Craft Council’s Spring Open Studio Weekend on May 23-24.
