Around town: Art Garden reopens in new downtown gallery

Art Garden, a combination art gallery and plant shop in Asheville, North Carolina, reopens on May 7, 2025, at a new downtown location at 98 N. Lexington Ave. The business was displaced after its former home in Riverview Station was flooded by over 25 feet of water during Tropical Storm Helene in September 2024. From Ashes to Light, Brooklyn Arts Group Rebounds After a Fire

After a fire destroyed its home base in Red Hook in September 2025, the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) is presenting its first in-person exhibition, "Unmoored / Unbound," at Powerhouse Arts in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The juried group show features 40 artists working across various mediums, exploring themes of loss, transition, liberation, and resilience. The exhibition runs from May 22 to August 9, 2025, with an opening reception on May 21.

‘Life-changing’ exhibition to feature MP’s artwork

Abstract artist Joey Lowe is organizing a large-scale art exhibition at The Sessions House in Spalding, Lincolnshire, on May 9-10, featuring around 50 artists. A surprise participant is Sir John Hayes, the local MP for South Holland and the Deepings, who has submitted his own artwork for the show.
