Phillips’ Mill’s “96th Juried Art Show” Opens Sept. 20

Phillips’ Mill Community Association will host its 96th Juried Art Show from September 20 to October 26 at the historic grist mill in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The exhibition features a record-breaking 700+ artworks submitted by artists from Bucks County and the River Towns region, with an opening night preview on September 19 for patrons and accepted artists. The event includes 25 awards totaling $14,500, and for the first time, the opening requires tickets. Honored Artist Shawn Campbell and Signature Image artist Jay McPhillips will greet guests, and a jury of art professionals selected the works.

Celebrating the 2024–25 Academic Year Interns

The Bowdoin College Museum of Art (BCMA) celebrates its 2024–25 academic year intern cohort, highlighting the contributions of six student interns: Audrey Fillion, Pilar Saavedra-Weis, Karime Borrego, Neiman Mocombe, Julia Smart, and Chris Zhang. Interns worked on projects ranging from co-curating the exhibition "John McKee: As Maine Goes" to developing campus engagement surveys, leading gallery tours, and organizing community events. Emily Jacobs, Curatorial Assistant and Manager of Student Programs, authored the piece, noting the interns' diverse academic backgrounds—from art history and English to biochemistry—and their collaborative work with museum staff.

43rd Ellarsie Open Announces Juror Adam Welch: Accepting Submissions Until May 6th

The Trenton City Museum has launched the call for entries for the 43rd Ellarslie Open, appointing Adam Welch as the juror for the 2026 edition. Welch, the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Princeton and a former lecturer at Princeton University, will oversee the selection process for the prestigious regional showcase. Artists from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas are invited to submit digital entries through May 6, with the final exhibition scheduled to open on June 6 at the historic Ellarslie Mansion.

ENTERTAINMENT: AMFA opens Young Arkansas Artists exhibition; UCA Public Appearances sets 2026-27 season

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) in Little Rock opens the 65th Young Arkansas Artists exhibition on Saturday, featuring 52 artworks selected by a panel of museum and art professionals. The exhibition expands to four works per grade, K-12, and includes a "Best in Class" award chosen by grand juror Celeste Alexander. The show runs through July 26 in the Robyn and John Horn Gallery, with free admission and related activities at the museum's Windgate Art School.

Monroe County students helped curate new TMA online birds exhibit

Twenty-five art students from the University of Toledo, including local Monroe County residents Keira Turvey and Sara Wisler, have curated a new digital exhibition for the Toledo Museum of Art titled “Birds in Art: Devotion and Decadence.” The project marks a significant milestone for the university's art program as it is the first time students have developed an exhibition designed to exist exclusively in an online format.
