Eight London Underground Restrooms Get Vibrant Refurbs with Illustrated Tiles

Eight London Underground stations in the City of Westminster are receiving restroom upgrades designed by Hugh Broughton Architects, featuring illustrated tiles by artist James Lambert. The refurbishments, which began in February 2025, cover locations including Victoria Embankment, Parliament Street, Piccadilly Circus, Green Park, Carnaby Street, Westminster Pier, Covent Garden, and Leicester Square. The tiles incorporate historical motifs and iconography unique to each site, such as the King's Guards and George John Vulliamy's sphinxes guarding Cleopatra's Needle.

"I'm So ATL" Campaign to transform Atlanta parks into a living art gallery

A new public art initiative called the "I'm So ATL" campaign will transform dozens of Atlanta parks into a living art gallery this summer. Led by the Atlanta Music, Arts and Culture Foundation, the three-phase project will feature murals and large-scale installations by local artists, starting in 50 to 60 parks with plans to expand to up to 400 locations. Early installations are set for Piedmont Park, Shirley Clarke Franklin Park, and Mayor's Park, and the campaign will culminate in a free cultural festival from August 7–9 at Piedmont Park.

New temporary art exhibition revealed in Albuquerque

A temporary public art exhibition titled “Fantastic Animals from Mexico: Alebrijes and Nahuales” has opened in downtown Albuquerque, featuring eight sculptures each nearly 20 feet tall. The works are installed along Route 66 near the 8th Street roundabout and are inspired by Mexican magical realism, celebrating the cultural legacy of Mexican artisans. The sculptures are illuminated at night and will remain on display through July 17.

Joplin’s Route 66 art project to feature 16 new 3D paintings

Joplin, Missouri is expanding its public art project along historic Route 66 with 16 new 3D paintings. Artists are creating two-dimensional works that produce three-dimensional optical illusions, building on existing pieces installed in 2024 and 2025 at the Harry M. Cornell Arts and Entertainment Complex and Schifferdecker Park. Two new images are already in place at 1717 West 7th Street, with 14 more artists installing their work from June 3 to June 5. A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, June 6.
