CookieRun to open art exhibition featuring high-quality works and media displays

CookieRun: Kingdom, the mobile game franchise, is opening a new art exhibition titled "Legacy of the Kingdom" at the Ara Art Center in Insa-dong, Jongno District, central Seoul, running from Friday through April 23. The exhibition features 10 high-quality collaborative artworks by Korea's master artisans, including lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl (najeon chilgi) by Sohn Dae-hyun, a buncheong vase by Park Sang-jin, and gold-leaf work by Kim Gi-ho, alongside interactive media art by Nerdy Artist Union. Visitors can use special wristbands to trigger projections and visual effects. Devsisters CEO Cho Kil-hyeon announced plans to expand the exhibition to the United States, Australia, Britain, Canada, Taiwan, and Thailand, given that 70% of players are from outside Korea.

The exhibition, which opened on Nov. 12, sparked nearly 200 comments on Facebook, with local artists calling the work "disgusting," "slop," and "unethical." Four artists protested outside the gallery during the city's monthly ArtWalk event on Nov. 14, and a subsequent panel discussion on Nov. 22 included Baker, gallery owner Blair Williams, former NASA scientist Denise Yost, and Jen Jackson Quintano. Williams noted that three artists have severed ties with the gallery over the show.

Swindon Dance hosts art exhibition evening

Swindon Dance, based in Swindon's Grade II listed town hall, is hosting a one-night-only art exhibition titled 'Moving Moments' by local artist Sheryll K Fox. The exhibition features original figurative and landscape paintings, including works inspired by the dance classes Fox has been sketching over the past year. The event was conceived by Viv Slayford, Director and CEO of Swindon Dance, and will take place on Thursday 17 July from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Design Miami will expand to Dubai

Design Miami has announced plans to launch a new edition in Dubai in early 2027, in partnership with the Dubai-based cultural enterprise Alserkal. The fair, currently celebrating its 20th anniversary in Miami Beach, also runs an annual edition in Paris, while its Basel show was suspended earlier this year. The inaugural Design Miami Dubai will be led by Vilma Jurkute, executive director of Alserkal, Jennifer Roberts, CEO of Design Miami, and Jesse Lee, chairman of Design Miami and founder of Basic.Space, which acquired the fair in 2023. Beyond the annual event, the collaboration will establish a year-round programme of design talks and educational initiatives.

Inspiring new art exhibition by People of Determination lands at Dubai Airports
