Sanctioned North Korean art studio to exhibit work in Moscow under new deal

Russia's culture minister Olga Lyubimova met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang on June 29, 2025, and signed a 2025-2027 cultural cooperation agreement. Under the deal, North Korea's Mansudae Art Studio—which is under U.N. sanctions—will exhibit its work at a Moscow museum this summer. Lyubimova announced the exchange via Telegram on Monday, confirming the agreement with her DPRK counterpart Sung Jong Gyu.

Gallery’s summer exhibition showcases five artists’ work

The Gallery at Penn College is hosting "Five Artists: Explorations and Conversations," a summer exhibition running June 4 through July 24, 2025. The show features works by five Pennsylvania-based artists—Meredith Eachus Armstrong, Elizabeth Z. Bennett, Jean E. Downing, Peggy Blei Hracho, and Cecilia J. Rusnak—who have met monthly for nearly a decade to critique and support each other's creative processes. Their shared commitment to using textiles as an essential element is evident across a range of techniques including hand and machine stitching, dyeing, printing, collage, and assemblage. Interact Center Opens New Gallery Space

Interact Center, a nonprofit arts organization supporting artists with disabilities, has opened a new gallery space in St. Paul, Minnesota. The inaugural exhibition features a solo show and career retrospective for artist Andy Seymour, who has been with Interact since 2002 and whose "Summer" series of colorful, circle-filled works is on display. Two additional shows run concurrently: a portrait-themed exhibit and a multimedia collection titled "Collect Our Dream Branches Into a Pile," curated by advocates. The 4,000-square-foot gallery, located on Minnehaha Avenue, is more than double the size of Interact's former space and includes three distinct exhibition areas, accessible amenities, and free parking.
