Rome is celebrating the work of Rimini-born photographer Marco Pesaresi (1964–2001), 25 years after his death, through two events organized by the photography training center Daylight School, led by Marco Sconocchia. A documentary film titled "Il granchio nudo – La storia di Marco Pesaresi," produced by Riccardo Caccia and Michela Fragomeni and directed by Marta E. Antonioli and Elena Padovan, will be screened on May 21 at Nuovo Cinema Aquila. The film features unpublished materials, including Pesaresi's diaries and poems, and includes interviews with those who knew him. A group exhibition, "UNDERGROUND. Il mondo sotto. Omaggio a Marco Pesaresi," opens May 29 at Daylight School, reinterpreting the themes of his photobook "Underground" through the eyes of 15 photographers.

Masuk Senior Art Show displays young talent across different mediums

Masuk High School in Monroe, Connecticut, hosted its Senior Art Show in the school's media center, featuring 20 works by students in mediums including oil and acrylic paintings, charcoal drawings, sculptures, and ceramics. Organized by art teacher Monika Gagnon and ceramics teacher Dana Moraniec, the event replaced the canceled da Vinci Festival and included AP art portfolios alongside themed pieces exploring social commentary, personal experience, and identity. Participants are asked to design a monument, pavilion, or installation that engages with the former industrial complex, now a creative hub hosting the cultural program Arte al Gazometro since 2024. A jury including Marco Bassan, Ludovico Pratesi, Mattia Voltaggio, Claudio Quaternato, and Lorenza Baroncelli will select the winner, who will receive a €3,000 prize; the ten finalists will be published on Artribune and gain access to a Masterclass at the School of Vision. Submissions are open from May 21 to July 31, 2026, with results announced in September.

Developed by 3DBA and managed by Irgenre Group in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, the project uses multisensory technology, spatial sound design, and interactive devices to transport visitors back to the hours before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The experience aims to reconstruct daily life in ancient Pompeii—its villas, public spaces, and homes—culminating in the eruption itself, blending historical reconstruction with emotional engagement.

CCM Displays the Work of Student Artists in a Summer Art Exhibition

The County College of Morris (CCM) in Randolph, New Jersey, is hosting a Summer Art Exhibition featuring works by students from its Summer Portfolio and Presentation course. A reception was held on June 20 at the Learning Resource Center on CCM’s campus. The exhibition showcases selected pieces by students including Susan Harrsch, John Lyssikatos, Lia Scherr, Sarah Sci, Kevin Testa, and Allison Zavaleta, who completed the course designed to prepare Fine Art and Design students for careers or further study.
