The Muskegon Museum of Art has announced a new exhibition titled 'HerStory of Animation: Mary Blair & Beyond,' premiering June 6 through September 27. The show redefines animation history by highlighting the contributions of women animators and artists, from early pioneers like Helena Smith Dayton and Lotte Reiniger to contemporary figures. Curated by Mindy Johnson, the exhibition features production artwork, studio artifacts, rare imagery, films, and newly uncovered research spanning over a century of innovation.

Jolkonya’s Mother’s Day special exhibition opens in Dhaka

Jolkonya, a women's art organization, has opened a six-day group exhibition titled "Every Woman is a Mother" at Safiuddin Shilpalay in Dhaka to celebrate Mother's Day. The show features 35 artworks by 12 artists using watercolor, acrylic, and coffee-based mediums, and was inaugurated by painter-sculptor Ivy Zaman and singer Mehreen. The City Bank PLC is the title sponsor, and artist Ashok Karmaker curated the exhibition.

Downtown Janesville art gallery, maker space Raven's Wish plans to move

Raven's Wish, a downtown Janesville art gallery and maker space, is relocating from its current 4,000-square-foot location at 101 W. Milwaukee St. to a smaller downtown space. Owner Kegane Rynes, who bought the business from former owner Alicia Reed two years ago, says the move is driven by a need for a layout that better suits the shop's evolving focus on art classes and creative workspace. The business, which includes a pottery studio called Pottery By Five run by partner Heather Hansen, has seen growing demand for classes and aims to separate retail, framing, and workshop areas more intentionally.

The meeting also approved new council member additions, first-batch 2026 membership applications, and committee adjustments.
