Local artist James Green, professionally known as 'The Artful Green,' has launched a new solo exhibition at Drax Studio in Canford Cliffs, Poole. Running until May 4, the showcase features a body of work created through a singular, unrevised process where each painting is completed in a single pass without later corrections or modifications.
The Palais Galliera in Paris will host the exhibition "A Wardrobe of One’s Own: Dissident Femininities in the 19th Century" from September 26, 2026 to February 14, 2027. Featuring over 350 works—including clothing, paintings, photographs, and fashion posters—the show explores how 19th-century women appropriated men’s wardrobes, from Amazonian costumes and trousers to suits, ties, and top hats, as a means of emancipation and identity reshaping. Iconic figures such as Marie-Antoinette, George Sand, Rosa Bonheur, and Natalie Clifford Barney are highlighted alongside anonymous subjects from amateur photographs.
The Lawrence Art Center's Hang12 program, a group of high school students who curate art shows and events, unveiled 32 new pieces of art in the New Hampshire Street parking garage in Lawrence, Kansas. The artworks, designed by Lawrence High School juniors Wren Jay and Rilo Scholz, celebrate native Kansas plants and animals and were collectively painted and assembled by Hang12 members. A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from multidisciplinary artist Mona Cliff, who completed a mural in the same garage in 2025, and a tour of the new works.
The Rome Art and Community Center (RACC) in Rome, New York, will host an opening reception for the “Nature’s Palette” art exhibition on April 30, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. The show features 35 local artists and over 80 works, including paintings, photography, and mixed-media pieces, all celebrating the beauty and complexity of the natural world. The Southwick Cultural Council is hosting its 25th Annual Fine Art Exhibition Show and Sale at Town Hall on April 26-27. A solo exhibition titled "Tracing the Traces" by artist Chenxi Gao opens at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center in Dallas on Saturday, May 9, with a free reception from 6-8 p.m. Gao, a printmaking-based mixed-media artist from China, holds a BFA from Baylor University and an MFA from the University of North Texas. Her work, which has entered collections such as the Bradbury Art Museum, explores themes of home, memory, and displacement through works created between 2023 and 2026 in Denton, Fayetteville, Ark., and Roanoke, Va.
Bucks County Community College is hosting its annual Arts at Bucks celebration, featuring the 61st Annual Student Art Exhibition from April 24 to May 12. The event includes open studios, a bronze pour demonstration, an alumni and student art sale, and a schedule of music, film, dance, and theater performances at the Newtown Campus.
