Ukrainian artist and poet Oksana Zayets has opened a solo exhibition titled "Tender Light" in the historic Church of St. Nicholas and St. Elizabeth in Cheb, Czech Republic. Canada's monument to the victims of communism in Ottawa, officially opened a year ago, will no longer include individual names on its Wall of Remembrance after a federal government report revealed that many of the unvetted "victims" had ties to Nazi or fascist groups. A new abstract art exhibition titled 'Dimensions' has opened at Gallery 506 in Elsmere, Kentucky, featuring works by local artist Frank Herrmann. Bavarian state police (LKA) have returned five stolen religious sculptures—saints and angel figures—to Czech authorities. Czech sculptor and designer Tadeáš Podracký (b. 1989) presents new works during Milan Design Week 2026, including three carved wooden lamps and sculptures exploring hybridity. The pieces are inspired by the rare Sorbus sudetica tree, a hybrid species that has survived for nearly 20,000 years through asexual reproduction. The exhibition, titled "Before the Shape Appears," is produced by 5 Vie and hosted at Cavallerizze in Via Olona. A new three-story glass gallery called Kodl Contemporary is set to open in Prague by the end of 2025. Located on Dvořákovo nábřeží near the Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel, the space was conceived by Jakub Kodl, the youngest member of the prominent Czech art collector family behind Galerie Kodl auction house. The glass cube design is intended to maximize natural light for displayed works, and the gallery aims to showcase contemporary Czech art to an international audience.
