Catlett, who studied with Grant Wood and worked with the Taller de Gráfica Popular in Mexico City, focused her art on the lives of Black women, addressing themes of identity, equity, labor, family, and freedom.

Icons of American art arrive at the OSU Museum of Art

The OSU Museum of Art at Oklahoma State University has opened "Guild Hall: An Adventure in the Arts," an exhibition featuring works borrowed from the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, New York. Blockbuster exhibition highlights visionary women of abstract expressionism

The Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary has launched "Abstract Expressionists: The Women," a landmark touring exhibition featuring nearly 50 works by 32 female artists. Curated by scholar Ellen G. Landau and drawn from the private collection of Christian Levett, the show includes major figures such as Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, and Elaine de Kooning. An exhibition titled "Alphonse Mucha, Master of Art Nouveau Selections from the Dwahan Collection" will run from December 9, 2025, to March 14, 2026. It features 75 works by Alphonse Mucha, including rare original lithographs, proofs, drawings, a pastel, books, posters, portfolios, and ephemera, drawn from the Dhawan Collection in Los Angeles, one of the finest private collections of Mucha's work in the United States. The exhibition is organized by Landau Traveling Exhibitions and offers free admission.
