Open call for entries to new portrait award

ArtHouse Jersey has launched an open call for entries to its new Portrait Award, a competition open to artists aged 16 and over who live in or have a strong connection to the Channel Islands. The award is free to enter, with a deadline of September 30, 2026, and offers a top prize of £1,500 plus two runner-up prizes of £500 each. Selected works will be exhibited at Capital House in St Helier from January to April 2027, alongside works by international artists. Lucid Dreaming: dlr Open Exhibition 2025

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council presented the dlr Open Exhibition 2025, themed "Lucid Dreaming," at the Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon from December 7, 2025, to February 15, 2026. Curated by Davey Moor of the Royal Hibernian Academy through an open submission process, the exhibition awarded a €1,000 prize to Eimear Carvill, with runners-up Kate McDonagh and Fergal Styles each receiving €250. Iconic Images, Local Roots: Bernie Boston Exhibit Opens at Historic Pleasant Grove Church

Megan Clarke of Good Morning Washington visited McLean’s Historic Pleasant Grove Church to report on a new exhibition featuring the work of photographer Bernie Boston. Boston, a DMV native and longtime McLean resident, was the first African American member of the White House Press Corps and covered presidents from Truman through Clinton. He is best known for his iconic “Flower Power” photograph, which earned him a runner-up spot for the Pulitzer Prize. The exhibit showcases photographs spanning his career, including both celebrated images and candid shots of the photographer himself.

Meet new curator and concept of the Off white Charity Auction 2018

The 5th anniversary edition of the Off White contemporary art charity auction, organized by the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair, will take place on June 8, 2018, in partnership with Phillips auction house. For the first time, the auction will be curated by international curator Leopold Thun, co-runner of Emalin gallery in London, who will introduce a new concept, date, venue, and international perspective. Proceeds will benefit the Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art.
