Lina Lapelytė has transformed the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin into a mutable landscape of wooden blocks for her second Chanel Commission. The installation, titled "Welten bauen" (Building Worlds), invites visitors to actively shape the space, incorporating elements of poetry, song, and community. The work draws inspiration from Paul Hindemith's 1930s children's singspiel "Wir bauen eine Stadt," which was banned by the Nazis and led to Hindemith's emigration.

Easton's downtown art scene came alive during the May First Friday event, with multiple galleries opening their doors to the public. Artist Stuart Robertson presents "Through the Artist's Eye" at Bikaner House's Centre for Contemporary Arts in New Delhi, an exhibition born from a 15-month residency at Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital. The show features cyanotypes, digital photos, bronze and iron sculptures, and multimedia collages that recreate how patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and other visual impairments perceive the world. Artists Elliot Twelvetrees and Daniel Snouffer have opened a new gallery called Art Haus Unlimited in Columbus, Ohio, located at 765 Summit St. in a historic building. The gallery features fine art and photography by Twelvetrees, Snouffer, Colin Dearth, and Tamera Bryant. Twelvetrees, an abstract painter and former interior designer, and Snouffer, an award-winning photographer and designer, launched the space in November 2025, with Twelvetrees returning to the very studio she once used. The gallery participates in the Short North Gallery Hop and hosts events like Twilight Soirées with live music to create an inviting atmosphere.
Photographer Eric Lusito documents Soviet-era scientific institutes across former USSR states in his book "Soviet Scientific Institutes," published by FUEL. The photo essay captures decaying facilities and enduring equipment at locations including the Institute of Radio Astronomy in Kharkiv, Ukraine; the Byurakan astrophysical observatory in Armenia; the Andronikashvili Institute of Physics in Tbilisi, Georgia; and the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute in Kazakhstan, among others.
Artist Koh Sang-woo's solo exhibition "Still Breathing" opened at the Savina Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, featuring paintings of wounded, abused, and endangered animals. Third Space Art Foundation will present “1922 Revisited,” a live arts program curated by Dr. Janine A. Artist Sarah Spackman is preparing for a new exhibition titled "Continuum" at the Sarah Wiseman Gallery in Summertown, celebrating 20 years of collaboration with the gallery. Simon Gee, a much-loved painter and lecturer who taught at Coventry Technical College for over 30 years, died in March 2025. A posthumous exhibition of his portraits, which he insisted on showing in pubs rather than galleries, is being held at Twisted Barrel Brewery in Coventry for one month. The show raises money for Myton Hospices and aims to reunite some of his subjects with their portraits. Gee was known for painting strangers he met in pubs and workmen in hi-vis jackets, and for his gregarious, kind personality.
Anthony Lister, once called "Australia's Banksy," is staging a comeback with a new exhibition titled "Circus of Life" after being acquitted of sexual assault charges. The six-year legal battle, which began with a police raid on his Sydney home in 2020, led to the cancellation of his shows, financial ruin, and public vilification. Despite being found not guilty on all counts by a jury in under a minute, Lister says his reputation and career were destroyed, and he now challenges the art world and Australian public to accept him back.
Aschaffenburg, Germany, is hosting a landmark exhibition titled 'A European Collection' at the Christian Schad Museum, opening April 30, 2026. British artist Stuart Robertson's solo exhibition 'Through The Artist’s Eye' at Bikaner House in Delhi showcases works created during an 18-month residency at Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in Daryaganj. The show features photography, drawings, bronze sculptures, and cyanotype prints capturing the daily life of the hospital, its patients, staff, and the surrounding Chandni Chowk neighborhood. Robertson initially sold two watercolor works to a Delhi-based eye surgeon, donated the earnings to the hospital, and was subsequently invited to become an artist-in-residence.
The National Museum of Military History in Bulgaria will open an exhibition titled “Created in War, Preserved through Art” on May 5, marking the Day of Bravery and the Bulgarian Armed Forces as well as the museum’s 110th anniversary. The Cumberland Valley Artists Exhibition at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts has concluded after an extended run from November 8, 2025 to April 26, 2026. The exhibition invited artists to respond to four themes tied to America's semiquincentennial: Unfinished Revolutions, Power of Place, Tell Everyone's Story, and American Experiment. Eighty-five artists submitted 198 works, with 62 selected for display. Over 13,500 visitors attended, and more than 3,000 participated in the popular vote. The first-place winner was James Roberts for his work "Fabric," a mixed-media piece critiquing gun violence.
