UW Art Museum presents ‘Global Collection: Masks of the World’

The University of Wyoming Art Museum will open 'Global Collection: Masks of the World' on Saturday, May 2. The exhibition features 28 masks from the museum's permanent collection, spanning diverse regions and cultural contexts, and explores masks as cultural agents, works of art, and objects shaped by circulation and interpretation. The show is drawn from donations made over the past 50 years and was curated with assistance from UW Honors College intern Carter Coggins. Funding comes from the Barbara J. and V. Frank Mendicino Endowment for Collection Conservation and the Patricia R. Guthrie Special Exhibitions Gallery Endowment.

New Ships of the Sea exhibition to feature comic book style art

The Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum in Savannah, Georgia, has opened a new exhibition titled "Drawn to the Sea: Maritime Stories of Savannah." The show features work by four sequential artists who use comic book style art to interpret historic ships at the museum, including the Anne, SS Savannah, Pulaski, and Wanderer. The exhibition opened on May 2, 2026, with a free opening night celebration and will run through January 31, 2027.

New week-long 'Wild Art' exhibition celebrating nature and local creative talent set for Peterborough in May

A new community-led exhibition called 'Wild Art Exhibition 2026' will take place at Railworld Wildlife Haven in Peterborough from May 24 to 31. Organized by Community Clickers, Peterborough Together Project, and Peterborough Embroidery Society, the event features amateur artists, photographers, and makers from the area, showcasing works inspired by nature, wildlife, and the environment. The exhibition opens with a classic car show on May 24, presented in collaboration with Abandoned City Camo Crew.

I’M SO ATL Campaign to Turn Atlanta Into ‘Living Art Gallery’ Ahead of Summer 2026

The I’M SO ATL public art campaign is launching in May 2025 to transform Atlanta city parks into a "living, breathing art gallery" through large-scale installations, leading up to the ARTlanta Festival of Culture in Piedmont Park from August 7–9, 2026. Organized by spokesperson Yamileth Jaramillo, the initiative includes an open call for 1,000 artists, partnerships with Atlanta Parks and Recreation and other city agencies, and a social media campaign inviting residents to share what "I'm so ATL" means. Art will remain on display through November 2026.

Art in the Berkshires Opens Gallery, Creative Studio

Art in the Berkshires, an online hub for visual arts in Berkshire County, is opening its first physical gallery and creative studio at 8 Castle Street in downtown Great Barrington, Massachusetts this spring. The space will showcase regional artists, artisans, and makers, featuring fine art, functional art, and curated artisanal goods, while also hosting workshops, artist talks, demonstrations, readings, and performances. The inaugural exhibition, "The Berkshires Now," includes work from over thirty Berkshire-based and regional artists across disciplines such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, and functional objects. A grand opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from 4–6 PM, preceded by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:45 PM.

Students’ creativity celebrated at Armstrong art gallery

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum and Art Gallery in British Columbia is hosting "School Crossing," an exhibition featuring artwork from students of all ages across the Armstrong and Spallumcheen area.
