Young artists take over Slidell's city gallery

Student artists from across St. Tammany Parish participated in the 35th annual Salad Days Juried Exhibition of Student Art at the George Dunbar Gallery in Slidell. The event featured an opening reception and awards ceremony, with 80 artists submitting 174 works, of which roughly 30% were selected for display. Artist and arts advocate Joshua Wichterich served as the juror for the competitive show.

The Next Wilmington Art Loop Opens Friday, June 6, 2025

The next Wilmington Art Loop, a free citywide art exhibition, opens on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 5–9 PM. Now in its 38th year, the event is a partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Out & About Magazine. Participating venues include The Delaware Contemporary (featuring RADIUS and ARC 25 exhibitions), Wilmington’s Redding Gallery (hosting the City of Wilmington Employee Juried Art Show and a display on the Tubman-Garrett statue), The Mezzanine Gallery (showcasing Jen Hintz Eggers), MKT Gallery (presenting Troy Jones’s “Ancestral Echoes: Masks We Wear”), and Bridge Art Gallery. A free shuttle, provided by the City of Wilmington Parks & Recreation Department, will run from The Delaware Contemporary parking lot, with riders voting on additional gallery stops.

Art on the Square returns for 24th year with art, food and entertainment

Belleville Art on the Square returns for its 24th year from May 15-17, 2026, in downtown Belleville. The festival features over 100 artists from more than 27 states and one international artist, showcasing works in multiple mediums. Highlights include artist demonstrations by the Gateway East Artists Guild, a high school art show with judged awards, a Children's Art Garden with interactive activities, live entertainment at the Wine Court, and food vendors offering a variety of cuisines. Admission is free, and the event runs Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.

Art exhibit at Arden Fair celebrates ‘power of representation’ during Black History Month

Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento is hosting the Art, Culture & Lifestyle Exhibition, a free showcase featuring the work of 11 local Black artists in celebration of Black History Month. Curated by Berry Accius, founder of Voice of the Youth and Black BluePrintz, and his daughter Adejah Accius, the exhibition includes artists such as Anissa Walker, Katherine Dukes, Betty Davis, Shawntay Gorman, Lyric Worthen, Aliyah Sidge, Art By Brey, Jamillah Williams, Kareem Daniels, and SCO Go Crazy. The display is located on the first floor near the new RH Outlet and will run through the end of February.

On Friday, Dec. 5, the gallery opens 'Southern Realism,' a First Friday exhibition featuring Oklahoma artists Harriet Derrevere, Taylor Hoffer, Cody Jensen, and Andrew Nimick, with Jensen debuting two limited-edition photography books. On Sunday, Dec. 7, the space transforms into a Christmas Market with local vendors offering handmade gifts, live caroling, and family activities.
