The downtown art studio Apothecary Artists in Southborough will host a solo exhibition opening for painter Leonard Gerwick on Saturday, March 21st. The reception, scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, showcases a diverse range of works from the Marlborough-based artist, whose portfolio spans figurative painting, abstraction, and collage.
Kendall Hamelryck, the current artist-in-residence at Milligan University, has debuted her solo exhibition titled “Building a Life” at the Milligan Art Gallery. The showcase features mixed-media installations and sculptures, including the centerpiece “Be Content,” which explores themes of domesticity, faith, and the simplicity of childhood. The works reflect Hamelryck’s personal transition into marriage and family life, utilizing everyday objects like tea sets and stuffed animals to convey spiritual contentment.
Young Paducah artist has achieved a milestone with their first solo gallery exhibition, marking a significant step in their emerging career. The show, hosted by a local gallery, features a collection of the artist's recent works and has drawn attention from the Paducah arts community.
The University of Guam Isla Center for the Arts has opened a new exhibition titled "Island Voices: UOG Alumni & Student Printmaking Exhibition & Paper Boats Project Portfolio," featuring over 180 works created by students, alumni, and faculty. The show includes a variety of printmaking techniques such as linocut, woodcut, screen print, intaglio, lithography, monotype prints, and monodrawings, alongside two video works. The second half of the exhibit, the Paper Boats Project Portfolio, includes contributions from artists across North America, Europe, China, and Guam, exploring the theme of water through printmaking. The exhibition runs through Nov. 28.
The 2025 Communication Arts Student Art Exhibition is on display through June 6 at the Schulman Gallery on the campus of Luzerne County Community College (LCCC). The opening night on May 9 drew a large crowd to celebrate student talent, highlighted by the President’s Choice Awards presented by LCCC President John Yudichak and Schulman Gallery Curator Robert Husty. Awards were given in categories including Mixed Media, Sculpture/3-Dimensional Art, Illustration, Photography, Painting, Music Recording Technology, Best Portfolio, and Best of Show, with winners such as Karla Richiez, Jenna Tutorow, Antonio Solis Jr., Amber Jones, Sydney Ogle, Evan Wenner, and Ashley Duran. The awards were sponsored by Marquis Art & Frame.
