Manhattan’s New Museum to collaborate with Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo on artist commissions

The New Museum in Manhattan is partnering with Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, founded by Italian patron Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, to launch the New Futures Production Fund. This initiative will support the production and exhibition of new works by international artists, with Italian-born Diego Marcon as the first commissioned artist. Marcon's new work will debut in a solo exhibition at the New Museum next year before traveling to the foundation in Turin. The collaboration coincides with the New Museum's expansion, a seven-story addition designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA's Shohei Shigematsu, which will double its exhibition space.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art will present "Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson" this fall, the largest-ever exhibition of works by American artist John Wilson (1922–2015) and his first solo museum show in New York. Featuring over 100 artworks—including paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, and archival material—the exhibition draws from The Met, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a dozen other lenders, with many works never before shown. A new project called Kunsthaus Paradiso has opened in Palazzo Molin Querini in Venice, running from May 4 to May 31 in conjunction with the Venice Biennale. Founded by curator Caroline Corbetta, the initiative evolved from her earlier Crepaccio project (2012–2016) in Milan and the Padiglione Crepaccio, which debuted at the 2013 Biennale Arte curated by Massimiliano Gioni. Kunsthaus Paradiso focuses on Italian and Venice-based artists—including Thomas Braida, Fabio De Meo, Caterina Rossato, Ornella Cardillo, Alessandro Miotti, Melania Fusco, Mauro Campagnaro, Marta Spagnoli, Barbara De Vivi, Spazio Punch, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Mattia Sinigaglia, and the collective Scafandra—offering a platform for emerging and local talent during the Biennale.

Meet the Canadian artists heading to Venice Biennale

Five Canadian artists have been selected for the main exhibition of the Venice Biennale, titled *In Minor Keys*, which opens to the public next Saturday. The participants are Abbas Akhavan (featured in the Canada Pavilion), Manuel Mathieu, Rajni Perera, Marigold Santos, and one additional artist.
