Visual Arts Studio Association explores colour and community in new “Yellow” exhibition

The Visual Arts Studio Association (VASA) is opening a new group exhibition titled "Yellow" on February 3, featuring 26 paintings by 10 local artists. The show explores the color yellow through diverse perspectives, including landscapes, abstracts, and still lifes, and will run until March 27 in the association's Corridor Gallery.

South Asian artists draw inspiration from heritage and identity at exhibition

The South Asian Artists Association of America held its "Vasant: A Spring Mosaic by Indian Artists" exhibition at Bridgewater Commons mall in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, from April 25 to 27, 2025. The three-day event featured 21 artists showcasing diverse works including large paintings, hand-carved candles, small sculptures, and traditional Madhubani-style art, with live painting demonstrations, workshops, Indian dance performances, and face painting for kids. The exhibition was part of the second annual Garden State Art Weekend and attracted over 60 attendees on opening day, with artworks priced under $150.

Cambodian artists highlight Khmer culture at free exhibit in St. Paul

Cambodian artists are celebrating Khmer New Year with the free exhibit “My Soul of Gold” at Xia Gallery & Cafe in St. Paul, Minnesota, running through April 27, 2025. The show features portraits of cyclo drivers and elders by photographer Hao Taing, paintings by Cambodian American artist Sara Gregor, and traditional wedding dresses, all exploring themes of heritage, war, and displacement. Inspired by kintsugi, the exhibit uses art to “fill in the cracks” left by the Khmer Rouge regime and historical erasure. Separately, documentary photographer Drew Arrieta is debuting “Infinite Bonds” at Resource gallery in Minneapolis, blending photography, audio, and personal objects to explore intimate relationships.

More Than 100 Artworks On Display At Merdeka Art Exhibition

More than 100 local painters, including artists with disabilities, are displaying their works at the Merdeka Art Exhibition 2025, held at Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Organized by Art Market Malaysia with the hospital's support, the exhibition features over 100 artworks themed 'Freedom to Heal: Merdeka Through Wellness,' alongside cultural performances, poetry recitals, and an art competition. Deputy National Unity Minister K. Saraswathy opened the event, which runs until September 12. Thirty percent of proceeds from artwork sales will go to the Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Centre.
