Group creates hidden gem 'haven for art' in seaside town centre

A collective of local residents founded Clacton Arts Centre (CAC) in late 2023 in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, to address the town's lack of free creative activities. A pop-up gallery, the Clacton Art Gallery, opened in a vacant retail unit in September 2024 and became a permanent hub after strong public support, now showcasing work from 39 local artists. Edmonds College Art Gallery spring exhibition showcases students’ art

Edmonds College Art Gallery in Lynnwood, Washington, is presenting its spring exhibition, "Student Art Show," from May 8 to June 12. The show features works by nine emerging student artists—Alexandria Ashley, Christian Douglas, Karis Johnson, Daphne Lynch, Zoe Mody, Aya Nakano, Jinx Pineda, Lika Rukhadze, and Felicity Silvers—across mixed media, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. An opening reception will be held on May 8 with food, refreshments, and live piano music.

Student art show inspires creative spark

Los Medanos College held the opening reception for its 2026 student art exhibition on April 22, showcasing works selected by guest juror Jennifer Lugris. Awards and scholarships were presented in partnership with the Concord Art Association and the Art Guild of the Delta, with first place for drawing going to "Welcome to the World" by Gigi Centeno. The event featured an interactive art wall and drew students, families, and community members to celebrate emerging artists.

TIA KI hosts Flower Moon art exhibition in Dimapur

TIA KI – Nagaland Art Space in Dimapur is hosting 'Flower Moon: May Special', a week-long art exhibition running from May 2 to 9, 2026. The exhibition features 12 participating artists and brands from Nagaland, including KINTEM, Hues of Hills, and Smallshop by Jason Anshu, with works spanning poetry, spoken word, textiles, drapery, dance, and performance. The opening on May 1 featured a performance art piece written by Anungla Zoe Longkumer, performed by Virieno Christina Zakiesato and Carol Humstoe, with styling by Imchatsung Imchen.

Students Recognized At JCC Juried Art Exhibition Opening

Nine students received awards at Jamestown Community College’s Juried Student Art exhibition, which opened recently in the Weeks Gallery on the Jamestown Campus. Winners included Tala Abuhmeidan (Outstanding Achievement in Painting), Alyson Danielson (President’s Award), Nicole Ford (Excellence in Sculpture), Rachel LeRoy (Distinguished Body of Work), Jack Lingenfelter (Innovation in New Media), Jessica Olson (Juror’s Award for Excellence), Zoe Pike (Excellence in Ceramics), Olivia Reynolds (Excellence in Drawing Practices), and Courtney Runge (Distinguished Work in Photography). The exhibition features works from students at JCC’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses across media including painting, drawing, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and digital media. Jurors included JCC Art faculty Madison LaVallee, Nathan Jeffery, Mark Kirsch, Brenna Turner, and Tom Makovitch.
