Open call to visual artists to help create festive sanctuary at Dorset venue

Lighthouse Poole in Dorset has issued an open call for visual artists with a local connection to submit work for its seasonal exhibition themed "BURROW," running from November 12, 2025 to February 27, 2026. The exhibition aims to create a peaceful, reflective space during the winter months, following last year's installation "The Wintering" by self-taught artist Carmel De’Lisser. Submissions are free, must use sustainable materials, and can explore concepts such as hibernation, searching, and comfort. The selection panel includes De’Lisser, curator Mille Lake, creative director Paul Newman, and co-founder Tom Pouncy.

Fresh Squeezed 10, the tenth annual exhibition at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, is now on display through June 25. The show features eight emerging artists from across the state, each given their own dedicated gallery space, creating a series of mini solo exhibitions. Plum Bottom Hosts Outdoor Art Show

Plum Bottom Gallery in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, will host its annual outdoor art show on Memorial Day weekend, May 23–24, 2025, from 11 am to 4 pm. Grind – Charity Skateboard Art Exhibition Ramps Up For Its Third Year In Loganholme

FIRST Disability Support & Training Service in Loganholme, Queensland, is hosting the third annual Grind skate deck art exhibition in July 2026, with over 100 entrants from across Australia. The exhibition features custom-designed skateboard decks by members of the public, school students, and people living with disabilities, under the theme 'Myths, Monsters & Mayhem'. Booming exhibition is becoming ‘prominent’ event for town

Studio B Boyertown Welcomes New Gallery Director, Announces New Exhibit

Studio B Boyertown has appointed Bob Hakun as its new gallery director. Hakun, an assemblage artist who creates works from found objects, previously worked as a computer graphic designer and prepress manager after his career designing Halloween masks and costumes moved overseas. He is a 1976 graduate of Kutztown University with a BFA in painting. The gallery is also presenting the exhibition “Form & Fiber: 3-Dimensional Expression in Art,” featuring 3-D and fiber works by Hakun and fifteen other artists, running through June 21.

The Castello di Sammezzano, a Moorish-style castle near Florence, Italy, is set for a major revival. Built in the 19th century by the Marquis Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona, the castle is one of Italy's most important examples of Orientalist architecture, featuring over sixty uniquely decorated rooms, a monumental park, and rare botanical species. After decades of neglect, auctions, and sporadic openings, the property was purchased in 2025 by the family of entrepreneur Giorgio Moretti, who plans a €50 million restoration. The first phase will focus on rehabilitating the historic gardens, with work beginning in June 2026.

Immersive Art Exhibition Coming to Porsche Studio Portland

Porsche Studio Portland in the Pearl District is hosting a summer-long immersive art exhibition titled 'Shifting Realities,' running from June 4 to August 31. Created by Kelly Max and Aleks Davidovich of Portland's OWOW Inc., the exhibition features interactive rooms where visitors can paint a Porsche 911 with gestures, visualize engine sounds, and race in a simulator, with a robot arm serving Porsche-themed macarons at a flavor bar. The experience takes about 100 minutes and is open to all ages.

Students Recognized At JCC Juried Art Exhibition Opening

Nine students received awards at Jamestown Community College’s Juried Student Art exhibition, which opened recently in the Weeks Gallery on the Jamestown Campus. Winners included Tala Abuhmeidan (Outstanding Achievement in Painting), Alyson Danielson (President’s Award), Nicole Ford (Excellence in Sculpture), Rachel LeRoy (Distinguished Body of Work), Jack Lingenfelter (Innovation in New Media), Jessica Olson (Juror’s Award for Excellence), Zoe Pike (Excellence in Ceramics), Olivia Reynolds (Excellence in Drawing Practices), and Courtney Runge (Distinguished Work in Photography). The exhibition features works from students at JCC’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses across media including painting, drawing, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and digital media. Jurors included JCC Art faculty Madison LaVallee, Nathan Jeffery, Mark Kirsch, Brenna Turner, and Tom Makovitch.
