Documenta unveils first all-woman curatorial team for 2027

Documenta has announced the first all-woman curatorial team for its 16th edition, set to take place in Kassel, Germany, from June 12 to September 19, 2027. Artistic director Naomi Beckwith, deputy director and chief curator of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, selected four curators—Carla Acevedo-Yates, Romi Crawford, Mayra A. Rodríguez Castro, and Xiaoyu Weng—to develop the exhibition, publications, and programming. Science inspired art on display at White City

Eight artworks created live during the Great Exhibition Road Festival, as part of the annual science-art project Paint Lab, will go on display at Imperial College London's White City campus from July 16 to September 18. The large-scale paintings were produced by local London artists collaborating with Imperial scientists, drawing inspiration from research topics such as space weather prediction, plant self-preservation, early Parkinson's detection, and human connection during cancer treatment. The festival, organized by Imperial in partnership with the Science Museum, Natural History Museum, and V&A, attracted 55,000 visitors.

Never Before Seen Art From King Charles’s Royal Tours Debuts at Buckingham Palace

Key player in Norval Morrisseau forgery ring pleads guilty

James White, a central figure in a long-running forgery ring producing fake artworks by Indigenous Canadian artist Norval Morrisseau, pleaded guilty in Ontario Superior Court to creating forged documents and trafficking forged artworks. White admitted to trafficking 502 fake works, some sold for tens of thousands of dollars. artdiscovery launches insured authenticity guarantee

ArtDiscovery, a scientific art analysis firm with offices in London and New York, has launched what it calls the world's first insured authenticity guarantee for artworks. The service combines connoisseurship, provenance research, laboratory science, and proprietary AI, then backs the conclusion with an insurance policy from an A+ rated global insurer. If a certified attribution is later proven incorrect, the policy covers financial loss to the artwork's owner. The company's CEO, Denis Moiseev, and CFO, Steven Maslow, explained that the insured certificate is priced at 60 basis points of the certified value and travels with the artwork as a transferable warranty.
