From gallery to gavel: investment-grade art collection open to public

Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery’s exhibition to open Jan. 22

A new student-curated exhibition titled “Through Different Eyes: Industrial Worlds by Women Artists” will open on January 22 at the Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery at Penn State University Park. The installation explores the historical concept of the 'odour of sanctity'—the sweet fragrance said to emanate from saints—through the lens of biochemistry, using bespoke scent compositions, sculptural diffusers, and light to blur the boundaries between sacred spaces and scientific laboratories.

China-Bulgaria art exhibition opens in Sofia

A joint China-Bulgaria art exhibition opened in Sofia, Bulgaria on August 18, 2025, featuring over 60 works by Chinese and Bulgarian artists. The six-day event showcases Chinese ink paintings, woodcarvings, embroidery, lacquer painting, tie-dye, batik, and digital art alongside Bulgarian works inspired by traditional textiles, felt, and contemporary interpretations of local heritage. Participants include 15-year-old Gabriela Georgieva, who presented two watercolor paintings.

The Milan chapter, active since March 2008, is currently managed by Valentín Di Salvo, Stefano Ziffarelli, and Daniela Paglia, and organizes events such as a recent gathering at the garden of Via San Martino, which drew over 90 artists.
