Summit County seeks artists to design public art benches for Silver Summit building

Summit County's Public Art Advisory Board has issued a call for artists to design and fabricate seven artistic benches for the exterior of the Silver Summit Services Building in Park City, Utah. The project includes two 8-foot and five 5-foot benches that must reflect themes of unity, community, justice, service, and law and order, while being durable enough to withstand deep snowfall, high winds, and temperature extremes. Proposals are due by May 22, with a pre-proposal meeting on May 15, and installation is planned for summer to fall 2026.

In Denver, "Seguir cantando (Keep Singing)" fills the museum's second floor with new and recent works, while in Colorado Springs, "Cantando Bajito (Singing Softly)" functions more as a career retrospective. Both shows feature Hernando's signature textile installations made from yards of tulle, including the monumental new piece "Seguimos cantando (Waterfalls)" at MCA Denver.

The Hansell Gallery at The Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles is presenting "Brain Drawings: The Art of Harry Smith," an exhibition running from May 7 to May 31, 2026. Ukrainian artist unveils Tender Light exhibition in Cheb church

Ukrainian artist and poet Oksana Zayets has opened a solo exhibition titled "Tender Light" in the historic Church of St. Nicholas and St. Elizabeth in Cheb, Czech Republic. The show features 40 oil landscapes created between 2022 and the present, with the most recent painting completed about a month ago. The exhibition runs until June 21 and marks the eighth exhibition by a Ukrainian artist in the Czech Republic.

Area artists invited to submit work for summer library exhibit

The exhibition is open to all ages, with categories for youth, teens, and adults, and accepts submissions in various media including painting, photography, digital art, textiles, and mixed media. Chester County art exhibition at Chester County art association

The Chester County Art Association in West Chester hosted the Chester County High School Art Exhibition and PA 6th District Congressional Art Competition reception on April 15. The event featured nearly 500 student works including sculptures, oil paintings, colored pencil pieces, and photography, with awards presented for both competitions. Josiah Fung of Wilmington Friends School won first place in the congressional competition for his piece "Friends for Life," which will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. Upper Grand student artists debut work in juried show at county museum

The Wellington County Museum and Archives in Ontario will host the Emerging Insights exhibition, a juried show featuring visual arts students from the Upper Grand District School Board.
