Fleurs De Villes blooms on Mag Mile

Fleurs De Villes, a floral art exhibition featuring mannequins made with real flowers, has returned to the Magnificent Mile in Chicago for a spring weekend. The event is held at 900 N. Michigan Shops and this year's theme is inspired by "Downton Abbey," ahead of the upcoming film based on the TV series. Local florists from the city and suburbs created handmade floral displays, with demonstrations scheduled throughout the weekend. The exhibition is free and open to the public through Sunday.

City of Detroit's arts and culture office hosts student gallery for its headquarters opening

Detroit's Office of Arts, Culture and Entrepreneurship (ACE) opened its new headquarters at the Butzel Family Recreation Center on May 16, 2025, featuring a student gallery with about 50 works of colorful and thematic art. The exhibition was curated from submissions solicited by ACE project manager Lacey Holmes from schools, art teachers, and community organizations across Detroit.

Pop-up exhibition highlights art from diverse artists

Binghamton University Art Museum (BUAM) is hosting a pop-up exhibition curated from its permanent collection of over 4,000 pieces, with each work selected by a member of the Binghamton University community. The exhibition was conceived by Richard Quiles, a diversity education coordinator and former museum intern, who collaborated with museum director Diane Butler and preparator Jessica Petrylak to invite faculty and staff to choose artworks that resonate with their identities and write reflection essays. The show includes paintings, prints, and works by prominent Black artists, and will run during Celebrate Diversity Month.

Managed by the ExPLOT Studio Utilization Council (secretariat: BankART1929), the studio is located in the PLOT48 complex and offers long-term (8 months) and short-term (3 months) spaces for artists and creators. Applications are due by June 15, 2025, with selection based on compatibility with shared use, participation in open studios, and activity rate. The studio aims to foster cross-disciplinary exchange among art, business, IT, welfare, and academia.
