Part 2 of Kingston Artists’ Showcase set to open in Market Wing Cultural Space

The City of Kingston has announced the opening of Part 2 of the Kingston Artists’ Showcase, a community-focused exhibition at the Market Wing Cultural Space inside Kingston City Hall. Opening May 21, 2025, and running through November 2025, this second installment features works by over 30 new local artists, including renowned artist Joanne Gervais and quilled artist Loreen Hynes. The showcase spans prints, paintings, textiles, and stained glass, selected through an open call, and follows Part 1 (October 2024–April 2025) which featured 31 artists. A free opening reception will be held May 28, 2025.

Investigators search again for stolen Celtic gold treasure

Now, based on new intelligence, Bavarian state police are searching the property of the main suspect and his partner in Plate, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, using X-ray and radar technology. They believe 411 gold coins and a gold casting ingot—about three kilograms of gold—are professionally hidden there, along with cash from other burglaries. The suspect's partner is under investigation for money laundering for allegedly offering to help sell the gold.

Art League Houston Announces Open Call for 2027 Exhibitions

Art League Houston (ALH) has issued an open call for exhibition proposals for its 2027 season, inviting artists, curators, and collectives from around the world to apply for six total exhibitions across winter and summer sessions. Proposals are accepted in all disciplines, including visual arts, installation, performance, video, and interdisciplinary practices. An artist advisory board will review submissions between November 2025 and January 2026, with a free application deadline of October 31, 2025. The new venue, named Casa Paradiso Art Gallery, is set to open between October and November 2026. SRU recognizes high school artists with exhibit and awards

The I’M SO ATL public art campaign is launching in May 2025 to transform Atlanta city parks into a "living, breathing art gallery" through large-scale installations, leading up to the ARTlanta Festival of Culture in Piedmont Park from August 7–9, 2026. Call for local artists to design cover of Guernsey Short Story Anthology

The Guernsey Literary Festival and Art for Guernsey are inviting local artists to submit cover designs for "Time & Tide," the Guernsey Short Story Anthology, a new publication celebrating writers connected to the Bailiwick. The competition is open to artwork of any medium inspired by the anthology's theme of personal memories, imagined futures, and island life rhythms. Call out for artists to enter Leicester’s popular Open exhibition

Leicester Museum & Art Gallery has issued a call for entries for its annual Open exhibition, titled 'Open: The People’s Exhibition 2025.' Artists aged 19 and over who live or study in the East Midlands—including Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, or Northamptonshire—can submit paintings, sculptures, textiles, prints, and photographs by the deadline of 4pm on Tuesday, 30 September. A separate category is open to young artists aged five to 18.
