Highlighting Contemporary Art in Georgia | Seams to Be: New Approaches to Textile Techniques

The Georgia Museum of Art and independent guest curator Didi Dunphy have organized "Seams to Be: New Approaches to Textile Techniques," the fourth installment of the traveling exhibition series "Highlighting Contemporary Art in Georgia." Opening October 2, 2025, at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, the show features 13 Georgia-based artists who use needle and thread in innovative ways, including Adah Bennion’s beaded chip bags, Cathy Fussell’s free-motion quilts, Annie Greene’s yarn paintings, and Jamele Wright Sr.’s fabric assemblages combining Dutch wax cloth and Georgia red clay. The exhibition will travel to six venues across the state through January 24, 2026.
