Artists invited to submit work for Moraine Valley’s annual community show

Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, is inviting artists aged 18 and older living within 50 miles to submit up to two pieces for its 23rd annual community art show. Submissions are accepted May 19-21, with notifications on May 26. The exhibition runs May 29 to July 30, opening with a reception and awards ceremony on May 30. This year’s juror is Lisa DeLuca, a photographer and teaching artist with experience as a recruiter for art schools and a docent at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. She has previously juried the college’s high school exhibition and other regional shows.

Redland Art Gallery celebrates the sea, light and local creativity

Redland Art Gallery in Cleveland, Australia, is launching three new exhibitions in late November 2025, each exploring themes of sea, light, and local creativity. The season features "Water Works" by acclaimed Queensland artist Joe Furlonger, whose expressive paintings and ceramics capture the beauty and danger of the sea; "Some Things Too Bright to See" by emerging Brisbane artist Holly Anderson, focusing on light across water; and "In Focus 2025 – Flourish," an annual community exhibition showcasing local artists. Annual Community Exhibition Draws Crowds to Manhattan Beach

The Manhattan Beach Art Center's eighth Annual Community Exhibition opened to a record crowd of over 650 people on its opening night. Merritt Wins Best Of Show At Spring Juried Art Show

Wesley Dallas Merritt won Best of Show at the Lakeland Art Association's 22nd annual Spring Juried Art Show, held at the Lakeland Art Gallery in Warsaw, Indiana. The show featured 53 works by 19 artists from Fort Wayne, North Manchester, and surrounding counties, including paintings, photographs, metal sculptures, and ceramic works. Judge Andrew Tomasik, a Warsaw Community High School visual arts teacher, also awarded first place to Brenda Stichter, second place to Merritt, and third place to Sherri Johnson, along with six honorable mentions.
