Elmhurst University’s painting "Tree at Aledo" by Gertrude Abercrombie is currently on a national tour as part of the retrospective exhibition "Gertrude Abercrombie: The Whole World Is a Mystery." The work is presently on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum following stops at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Colby College Museum of Art, with a final scheduled stop at the Norton Museum of Art through early 2027.
EAT/ART Space, a collaborative project merging food and visual art, will take over ETSU's Tipton-Ashe Galleries. The initiative transforms the gallery into an interactive environment where visitors can engage with art through culinary experiences, blurring the lines between gallery viewing and dining.
Pittsburg State University's Art Department is hosting a series of free exhibitions in its two galleries at Porter Hall this fall. Featured shows include Katie Petersen's "Centripetal: The Return to the Self" (Sept. 3–Oct. 10) at the Harry Krug Gallery, exploring balance and health through pastel colors and x-ray imagery; Diane Bronstein's "Unreal city" at the University Gallery, blending vintage photography with embroidery to address climate change; "Seeded: Art After Investment" (Oct. 15–Nov. 10) showcasing faculty and student works made possible by grant funding; and Jason Tanner Young's "Finder" (Oct. 22–Dec. 15), a sculpture exhibition examining the relationship between objects and memory. All exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public.
Shirin Abedinirad, an Iranian land artist and faculty member at Utah Valley University School of the Arts, has created works for the exhibition "Healing Waters: Restoring Our Relationship with Utah Lake" at the UVU Museum of Art. After immigrating to the United States four years ago and studying at Michigan State University, she felt disconnected from Michigan's humid landscape. A trip to Utah, where the desert environment reminded her of Iran's Urmia Lake and the Great Salt Lake, inspired her to create land art again. Her pieces in the show include videos of performance art filmed on Utah Lake's shores and a striking installation of red felt roots symbolizing the connection between all living things.
The Department of Art & Design has announced the Integrative Studio II student-led exhibitions, scheduled to run from March 3rd through March 6th, 2026, at the Finley Gallery and Annex Galleries. The showcase is the result of a six-week intensive study where visual arts majors used the piñata as a conceptual starting point to explore themes of history, materiality, and transformation. The exhibition is split into two distinct sections: "From the Outside In," which focuses on personal memory and cultural background, and "Divergence of Reactions," which addresses complex emotional themes such as anxiety and the fragility of life.
Government College Women University Faisalabad's Department of Art & Design is organizing a solo exhibition titled "Chain of Memories" featuring works by artist Dr. Tooba Najam. The exhibition will be held at the Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Division and inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen, with university Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen attending as a special guest.
