Ari Hodara, a 58-year-old software engineer from Paris, has won Pablo Picasso’s 1941 painting 'Head of a Woman' through a charity raffle. Hodara purchased a single €100 ticket for the '1 Picasso for €100' lottery after seeing an advertisement in a restaurant, eventually beating out 120,000 other participants to claim the work valued at approximately $1.2 million.

The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, New York, is launching its 35th annual High School Juried Art Show on April 18, 2026. This year’s exhibition features 136 selected works from over 440 submissions, representing student artists from 18 regional school districts across five counties. A panel of professional jurors, including ceramicist Ava Tesoriero, painter Katie Langford, and fiber artist Joy Muller-McCoola, curated the selection which spans mediums from digital illustration to sculpture.

Following the recent Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026 event, which added 25 stone and metal sculptures to the permanent collection, the city has announced 12 new site-specific installations by high-profile international artists including Anselm Kiefer, El Anatsui, and Manal AlDowayan. The project aims to reach a total of 115 new commissions, building upon a collection that already features masters like Anish Kapoor, Jeff Koons, and Giuseppe Penone.
