The move marks a strategic shift for the organization, which previously operated across a decentralized network of locations in Monaco, France, and Greece. The 2026-2027 program focuses on artistic production as a shared process, featuring residencies and exhibitions by artists such as Pol Taburet, Chiara Camoni, and Francis Offman, alongside multidisciplinary public programs covering poetry and architecture.
London gallery Herald St, known for nurturing artists like Nicole Wermers, Cary Kwok, and Pablo Bronstein over the past 20 years, will open a new space in Bologna, Italy, in early 2025. Co-founder Nicky Verber cites the city's strong local collector base, excellent institutions such as Mambo (Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna), and its connectivity to Venice, Milan, and Florence as key draws. The Gihanga Institute of Contemporary Art (GICA) opened this week in Kigali, Rwanda, as the country's first non-profit centre dedicated to promoting Rwandan art, culture, and history while fostering local and Pan-African artistic exchange. Founded by curator Kami Gahiga and artist-educator Kaneza Schaal, the institute was designed by Rwandan architect Amin Gafaranga and features an exhibition space, reference library, screening room, and residency studios. Its inaugural exhibition, "Inuma: A Bird Shall Carry the Voice," includes works by Rwandan artists and explores themes of faith and subtle expression.
