Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at the DAM

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15–October 15) by showcasing several exhibitions featuring works by artists from Latin America, Spain, and the Caribbean. Key exhibitions include "A Century of Art in Latin America," which presents a comprehensive survey of Latin American art over the past 100 years, featuring masters like Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and José Clemente Orozco; "Confluence of Nature: Nancy Hemenway Barton," displaying textile sculptures and works on paper by the late multidisciplinary artist; "Ink & Thread: Codices and the Art of Storytelling," highlighting contemporary codices by Enrique Chagoya and the Tillett Tapestry; and "Painting in the Andes, 1680–1780," exploring colonial-era art from Andean centers. All exhibitions are included with general admission, which is free for visitors 18 and under.

Paradise Mobile Heritage Month Art Showcase

Paradise Mobile has announced the return of its Heritage Month Art Showcase, a local art exhibition running throughout May at its 24 Reid Street store in Bermuda. The exhibition features nearly 50 works from 20 Bermudian artists, selected through an open call around the theme 'For de Culture' set by the Department of Culture. Pieces span paintings, ceramics, photography, music, embroidery, woodwork, sculpture, model boats, and poetry, and are available for purchase with all proceeds going to the artists. A public opening reception will be held on May 8th with live music and refreshments, and visitors can vote for the 'Paradise People's Choice Award' winner.

Over 35 Indigenous pieces from six artists on show at Castellani House

Over 35 pieces of art from six Indigenous artists, primarily from the Arawak tribe, went on display at Castellani House in Georgetown, Guyana, on Monday evening at the annual Art Exhibition and Pop-up Fashion Show. The exhibition, a collaboration between Castellani House and the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, runs until the end of the month and marks Indigenous Heritage Month. Curator Ohene Koama noted the works are wood-based, inspired by the artists' environment and heritage, featuring abstract and symbolic forms. Featured artist Roaland Taylor, from St Cuthbert's Mission, has participated since the exhibition began in the late 1980s, originally at Umana Yana.

CALLING LOCAL ARTISTS: Submissions Now Open for 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibit

The Hispanic Heritage Network of Orange County (HHNOC) is now accepting submissions for its 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibit, themed "Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future." Artists are invited to submit original visual artwork inspired by Hispanic heritage, with selected pieces to be displayed at the Orange County Administration Building in Downtown Orlando from September 8 to October 23, 2025, and at Orlando International Airport from September 10 to October 28, 2025. Submissions must be completed online by August 1, 2025, and include an artist statement and high-resolution images.

City Galleries Burst with Spring Art (sponsored)

The City of Gaithersburg is presenting spring art exhibitions across four of its galleries, along with the Arts Barn Spring Artisan Market. Shows include "Beyond The Canvas," a three-dimensional exhibition of relief and sculptural works by 27 artisans at the Arts Barn; the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association’s 40th Annual Membership Juried Exhibition at Kentlands Mansion, juried by artist J. Jordan Bruns; "Big, Bold & Bright" at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, featuring large-scale abstract works; and an Asian-influenced exhibition by the Harmonious Art Group at the Benjamin Gaither Center celebrating Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The Spring Artisan Market on April 25 will offer handcrafted gifts from local makers.

New exhibit shares refugee’s journey to Baton Rouge

A new art exhibit titled "A Refugee's Origin" opens at the Shell Gallery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, featuring nearly 30 works by artist and rheumatologist K.T. Ho. The show includes paintings, photos, and installations that trace Ho's journey from Vietnam to Louisiana, exploring family history, culture, and the experience of survival and starting over. The free exhibit runs from April 27 through May 29, 2026, with an opening reception on May 1 featuring a lion dance and food, presented in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Solo exhibition for local artist

Martin Dominguez of Warwick, Uruguay, presents his solo exhibition “PLACEment” at Orange Hall Gallery, SUNY Orange, from September 26 through November 21, 2025, coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month. The show features paintings, sculptures, and hand-crafted stop-motion film sets that explore the immigrant experience through themes of displacement, resilience, and belonging. An opening reception on September 26 includes pianist Darius Beckford.

Call for artists: County Museum invites submissions for Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition

The San Bernardino County Museum, in partnership with the Inland Empire Latino Art Association, has issued a call for artists for an exhibition titled "Expectations: A Better World Through Art, Music, and Respect," running from September 13 to December 14. The show celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and invites submissions in all mediums from artists in San Bernardino County and surrounding regions, with a deadline of August 8. Selected works will explore how expectations shape identity and community, and the museum has explicitly banned AI-generated art from the submission process.
