Backflips, boulders and dancing dogs: the images that shaped art photography – in pictures

CFA in Milan presents "No Hay Banda," a group exhibition running from 29 May to 26 June 2026, featuring four international artists: Vandria Borari (Brazil/Germany), Petra Feriancová (Slovakia), Karoliina Hellberg (Finland), and Sofia Silva. The show brings together ceramicist and Indigenous activist Borari, whose work includes the Yupirungáwa series and the Fluid Forest project; Feriancová, a Slovak artist who represented the Czech and Slovak Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale; and Hellberg, a Finnish artist who recently won the Visual Artist Award from the Marcus Collins Memorial Fund. The private view is scheduled for 28 May 2026.

AMoA hosts exhibit of student artwork, to hold special reception

The Amarillo Museum of Art (AMoA) is hosting the Texas Panhandle Student Art Show, an annual exhibition showcasing student artwork from across the Texas Panhandle. A special reception will be held on May 15, 2026, to honor participating students and award winners. The show features a wide range of media including paintings, drawings, printmaking, computer art, collage, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media. Awards include Best of Show honors, scholarships from West Texas A&M University and Amarillo College, and Georgia O’Keeffe Excellence in Art & Creativity awards sponsored by Education Credit Union.

SMC Emeritus Annual Student Art Exhibition Opens May 14

The Santa Monica College Emeritus Art Gallery will present Part 1 of its 2026 Annual Student Art Exhibition from May 14 through June 19, featuring works by student artists from SMC's noncredit Emeritus program for older adults. A free opening reception will be held May 14, and due to high participation, the exhibition is split into two parts, with Part 2 opening online on June 11.
